Donna Hannity of Donday Kennels went to UC DAVIS and talked with Dr. Pedersen to get the Biewer’s into the UC Davis Genetic Diversity Study before even thinking about breeding them.
To ensure the health and genetic diversity of our dogs, we also participate in the UC Davis Genetic Divesity Test offered by UC Davis.
UC Davis Genetic Diversity is a continuing study for the Biewer, as we go though the different stages of the study, UC Davis is looking for the different markers that could affect our breeds health and longevity. This is not a commercial DNA test for the dog, it is a study for the Biewer’s Breed, ONLY!!!
We want to know that we are doing everything to improve the breed.
